Fuji X Aus | Melbourne Spring Meetup 2018

Updated: Oct 19, 2018

Spring has finally hit Melbourne (hellooo hay fever!) and last weekend, we had just the most perfect weather for our Fuji X Aus Spring Meetup - a family event that two of our members, Jayne Maa & Rachel Rowe had been planning since July.

We met up at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne from about 9:30am till about 2pm. It was, as always, a great time for us to catch up, talk cameras and anything photography related, photograph the kids (which was the other reason for this meet up!). The kids.. well, they just did what kids do.

There was just so much to explore, including a Rockpool Waterway, which was perfect right around noon when the sun was getting just a little warm. Once we hit the rockpool, I thought that was it - we wouldn't be able to get the kids away to explore the rest of the gardens. But the promise of turtles and eggs was appealing enough to get them out of the water eventually!

Trying to get a group photo of the little ones .. that was just hilarious! I wasn't quick enough to get a photo of them all together (no doubt their parents came away with some great photos - experience and all that! haha!), but here's one with Brycie trying to sneak away!

We finally got back to the turtles - and that was probably the only time the kids stayed in one place for a very long time. I do remember hearing some talk amongst the parents about getting some turtles if that was what it took to keep the kids entertained for a long time! I wonder if turtle sales went up the next day. :)

Thank you to Rachel & Jayne for organising this event. Hope that all who attended had a great time. I know that Ian & I had the best time ever. You can also check out the highlights video of this event : Fuji X Aus Spring Meetup.

Hope to see you all at our next meet ups!
